Origins
Swedesboro’s own Ted Laux loved football. At Collingswood High, he was the local, all-conference hero. Laux later played for the Steagles – a team that was a temporary merger between the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, due to player shortages brought on by World War II.
Our tribute to the cold-weathered homeboy is a cool-fermented Lager like no other. Flying Steagle has little in the way of hop and malt character, which imparts a truly exceptional clean and crisp flavor.
Food Pairings
Significantly crisper and more delicate than an India Pale Ale (IPA), our Flying Steagle Lager goes very well with popular sport and street foods such as grilled meat and seared chicken or pork. It can also be paired with lighter shellfish and even light pasta dishes. As for dessert, pairing with a salty treat, like salted pretzels dipped in caramel, compliments this lager.
Suggested Foods: Grilled Meat (Hamburger or Taco)
Cheese: Smear-Ripened Cheeses (Gruyère or Munster)
Dessert: Candied Bacon, Caramel Salted Pretzels, or Kettle Corn Balls
