Domaine de Chevalier is known internationally for creating esteemed white and red wines hailing from the region of Pessac-Leognan of left bank Bordeaux. This Domaine stands out as it never took on the classic title of “Chateau'' as part of the estate's name. Chevalier’s rise to fame was achieved in a short amount of time due to its excellent terroir and consistent ownership. Only three men have run the domain since it was acquired in 1865 until its current owner took over in 1983. As with many Bordeaux producers, Domaine de Chevalier creates more than one wine; L’Esprit de Domaine de Chevalier is its second wine, utilizing younger vines and intended for younger consumption. Chevalier prizes tradition and commitment as being of utmost importance in achieving its special wines.
