Intense and nutty are the first impressions here. Not typically Sauvignon? But sniff a little closer and there are lemons, limes and a layered biscuity, richness that lifts the aromatics out of the glass. There is also a savory, smokey element and there's minerality too. All together so very Three Brooms.
The attack is so rich and supple, giving the impression of super sweet ripe kiwifruit. There is juicy acidity too, which pulls you to the mid palate where there is amazing depth and complexity of the kiwifruit from the opening plus mango and pineapple, all intertwined with classic Three Brooms blackcurrant leaf, minerality and smokiness. And there's our comfort blanket. The blanket of creamy texture layered overall and borne out of the wine's inventively managed time on lees.
