Renamed Château Pégau, the property located in Sorgues covers 40ha of vines including 25ha in Côtes du Rhône. The building built in the middle of the vineyard and a few meters from the Rhône was a former relay of boatmen.
The "Maclura" also called Osage Orange is a tree native to Oklahoma. The Osages, an Indian tribe, mixed the sticky juice of the fruit of this tree with colors for their war paints. This tree is a rarity in the South East of France.
The Cuvée Maclura is particularly qualitative because 20ha of Côtes du Rhône Villages goes into its composition.
The vinification of the red Côtes du Rhône is identical to that of our Châteauneuf du Pape, only the aging in concrete vats differs.
